Job summary

Qualifications

• DEEC preschool lead certification is required.
• Preschool teaching experience is required.
• Knowledge of MA Guidelines for Preschool Learning Experiences and MA Curriculum Frameworks is required.
• Familiarity with Massachusetts Early Learning Guidelines for Infants and Toddlers is preferred.
• Ability to complete all job responsibilities and maintain professional relationships.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum based on child assessment data.
• Oversee ongoing child assessment and support classroom staff in using tools.
• Develop and implement individual plans based on assessment data.
• Create and apply effective teaching strategies.
• Maintain family and progress reports and communicate with families regularly.
• Identify developmental concerns and develop accommodation plans with leadership.
• Foster social/emotional development and a nurturing classroom environment.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, accreditation, and agency standards.
• Supervise and interact with children to maintain safety throughout the day.
• Meet with families quarterly and provide initial and ongoing progress reports.

Education

DEEC Lead Teacher Preschool Certified

DEEC Lead Teacher Infant/Toddler Certification – Preferred

BA in Early Childhood Education or BA out of field with 36 ECE credits – Preferred

Two years of preschool teaching experience – Required
