Job summary

Prodigy ELC at Wellen Park LLC in Florida invites a Lead Preschool Teacher to foster a nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment rich with STEM and literacy activities, while focusing on the whole child—social-emotional, cognitive, and developmental growth. You will lead by example in the classroom and collaborate with staff to plan engaging lessons.

You will communicate with parents daily, mentor new staff, ensure safety, maintain portfolios, and uphold accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDA credential required.
• Minimum 1 year experience as lead teacher in licensed childcare.
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice (DAP).
• Familiar with NAEYC standards.
• Must be 18+ and pass Level 2 background screening.
• VPK certification if applicable.
• Florida standards training within specified timeframes.

Job description

As a Lead Preschool Teacher, you will foster a nurturing environment that is rich in developmentally appropriate activities that will encourage children\'s curiosity and learning. We care for the whole child as an individual including their social -- emotional, cognitive, and developmental needs.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Job Requirements

• High school diploma/GED
• CDA
• 1-year experience working as lead teacher in a licensed childcare facility
• Meets state childcare education requirements
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice (DAP)
• Familiar with NAEYC standards
• Familiar with continuity of care
• Strong organizational skills
• Able to maintain professional composure in stressful situations
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Familiar with accreditation process -- preferred
• College level coursework, Associate\'s or Bachelor\'s degree - preferred
• Must be able to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift 40lbs
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must pass Level 2 background screening
• VPK certified if applicable
• The following childcare training courses must be completed within specified timeframes-
• Florida early learning and developmental standards- Birth to kindergarten (2017) Online -- upon hire
• Florida early learning and developmental standards- Birth to kindergarten (2017) Instructor-Led - within 180 days of employment
• Special Needs Appropriate Practices -- within 90 days of employment
• CPR and First Aid -- within 90 days of employment
• Other training requirements identified by leadership team
• May perform other duties assigned.
