Ivywood Academy in Stockbridge, GA is seeking a passionate Lead Preschool Teacher to inspire young minds and create a warm, engaging classroom environment. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to early childhood development and work with a dedicated team to support whole-child growth.

You will plan age-appropriate lessons, foster a nurturing classroom, observe milestones, and mentor aides, while maintaining strong parent communication and compliance with licensing and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• 1–2 years of lead preschool or early childhood classroom experience.
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) and curricula.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age-appropriate, curriculum-aligned lesson plans for preschoolers.
• Foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Observe and assess child development milestones and maintain records.
• Communicate regularly with parents about student progress.
• Supervise and mentor assistant teachers.
• Ensure compliance with state licensing, health and safety standards.
• Collaborate with staff to support whole-child development.

• Plan and implement age-appropriate, curriculum-aligned lesson plans for preschool-aged children


• Foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages learning through play


• Observe and assess child development milestones and maintain accurate student records


• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities


• Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom aides


• Ensure classroom compliance with state licensing regulations and health and safety standards


• Collaborate with academy staff to support whole-child development across all learning domains

Requirements:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred


• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a lead preschool or early childhood classroom setting


• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) and early childhood curriculum frameworks


• Current or ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification


• Strong classroom management and communication skills


• Warm, patient, and enthusiastic demeanor with a genuine love for working with young children
