Lil’ People’s Place in Clarkston, MI is seeking a Lead Teacher to guide a nurturing preschool program for ages 3 and a 2.5-3 transition class. The role focuses on planning, supervising an engaging environment, and mentoring assistant teachers.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s Degree, Associate’s Degree, CDA or 960 hours in Early Childhood Education, along with CPR/First Aid certification and a required background check.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree, Associate’s Degree, CDA or minimum 960 hours in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Fingerprint Background Check through CCBC.
• 16 hours of continued education

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and carry out an education program designed by Lil’ People’s Place.
• Maintain a welcoming classroom environment and organize materials.
• Mentor assistant teachers.
• Supervise children in classroom and on playground.
• Communicate daily with parents.
• Lesson planning and classroom management.

Rate of pay is competitive and based on level of education and experience in the field.

Looking for a 3 year old preschool lead teacher and a 2.5-3 year old Transition lead teacher.

Lead Teacher Responsibilities:

• Plan, supervise, and carry out an education program designed by Lil’ People’s Place.


• Responsible for the appearance of a welcoming classroom (ie. bulletin boards, care of equipment and materials, overall cleanliness, and organization).


• Mentor assistant teachers.


• Always supervise children in the classroom and on playground.


• Share in classroom cleaning duties.


• Have open, daily communication with parents.


• Lesson planning.


• Implementing strong classroom management.


• Maintaining an environment that meets all licensing regulations, to promote a loving and nurturing classroom.


• Having a positive and professional attitude.

Lead Teacher Requirements:

• Looking for someone who is positive, caring, loving, and patient.


• Must work well with others.


• Able to lift children of varying ages and equipment of varying sizes.


• Educational requirements: Bachelor’s Degree, Associate’s Degree, CDA or minimum 12 semester hours in Early Childhood Education or child related field with 960 hours of experience.


• Infant, Child and Adult CPR and First Certification.


• 16 hours of continued education.


• Fingerprint Background Check through CCBC.
