Job summary

The Growing Years in Cary, NC is seeking a Lead Teacher to support Preschool and Two's classrooms. The role requires a high school diploma and the ability to pass background checks, plus an associate's or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or equivalent credits.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and ability to pass all background checks.
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in early childhood education, or an associate's/bachelor's degree with at least 12 credits of early childhood education or their equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare developmentally appropriate weekly lesson plans using current curriculum guides.
  • Implement lesson plans weekly across all areas of child development and carry out lesson plans according to classroom schedule/daily routine.
  • Establish a professional rapport with families to provide quality care for the children.
  • Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, maintaining an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.
  • Maintain a child assessment and portfolio for each child, and conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences during November and May.
  • Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
  • Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.

Education

High school diploma
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education
12 credits in Early Childhood Education or equivalent

The Growing Years of Cary is a licensed childcare center seeking LeadTeachersto support the following age groups:

To beQUALIFIED for the Lead Teacher opportunity, we require a high school diploma and the ability to pass all background checks. We also require an associate's or a bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a a completed associate's or bachelor's degree with at least 12 credits of early childhood education or their equivalent.

Required Shift: Monday - Friday: 9:00am - 6:00pm
Compensation: $17-$19 per hour, based on education and experience

Our Hiring Process for Lead Teachers:

Main Job Responsibilities for Lead Teachers:

  • Implement lesson plans/curriculum on a weekly basis covering all areas of child development and carryout lesson plans according to classroom schedule/daily routine; Useour parent communication appefficiently.
  • Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
  • Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, responding to their emotional needs; andmaintaining an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.
