Job summary

North Coast Childrens Service in Arcata, CA seeks a Lead Teacher responsible for developing and implementing classroom activities, coordinating with the Center Director to support children, families, and the program.

The Team Teacher ensures program consistency, plans lessons, observes child progress, and assists with recruitment, attendance, and daily routines. Requirements include an Associate Teacher Permit on the Child Development Matrix and at least one year of preschool teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Must possess an Associate Teacher Permit on the Child Development Matrix.
• Three units in Administration are desirable.
• Associates level degree preferred for all programs and required for a Head Start classroom.
• Minimum of one year teaching experience in a preschool setting.
• One year supervising at least one other staff member is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement daily curriculum and post weekly lesson plans.
• Collaborate with staff to meet each child's needs and family goals.
• Create a safe, stimulating learning environment and oversee classroom duties.
• Communicate program policies to parents and community members.
• Assist with attendance records and daily operations as needed.
