Job summary

San Diego County Regional Airport Authority seeks a Lead Plumber to oversee complex plumbing projects and mentor skilled trades staff at SAN. You will ensure safe, reliable operations across facilities and lead high‑visibility maintenance initiatives for the airport community.

The role is a promotional opportunity open to current SDCRAA employees. Strong leadership, planning, and technical plumbing knowledge are essential to drive improvements and collaborate across departments.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or G.E.D.
• Four years of journey‑level plumbing experience
• Or an equivalent combination of training and experience

Responsibilities

• Operational Management: lead preventive maintenance standards, assign work orders, plan materials and personnel.
• Installation & Maintenance: oversee plumbing systems design, installation, maintenance and repairs.
• Lead & Coach: manage staff, set schedules, coach, train, and promote safety.
• Program Support: manage meetings, budgets, records, and purchases; explore new methods and techniques.
• Operational Driving: travel to work sites using Authority vehicles.
