Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. is seeking a Lead/Principal Systems Design Engineer to drive platform architecture and subsystem integration across client, workstation, and server lines. You will lead design tradeoffs, validation planning, and bring-up from silicon to system-level deployment.

The role requires deep expertise in chipsets, firmware interactions, and high-speed I/O interfaces. You will collaborate across teams and with ecosystem partners to ensure successful certification and market

Qualifications

• Experience defining platform requirements and system-level architecture for client, workstation, or server products.
• Regulatory, environmental, interoperability, and industry certification requirements knowledge.
• Ability to produce customer-facing design guidance and technical documentation.
• Extensive board/platform bring-up, debugging, validation, and optimization experience.
• Understanding of power delivery architectures, security, and platform manageability.
• Collaboration with OEMs, ODMs, component suppliers, and ecosystem partners.
• Proficiency with lab equipment and protocol analysis for system bring-up.
• Programming in C/C++, Python, Perl, or Ruby; strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive platform architecture and requirements for chipset and I/O subsystems, aligning with regulatory and environmental standards.
• Lead evaluations, design tradeoffs, validation planning, bring-up, and debugging across subsystems.
• Collaborate with silicon, firmware, BIOS, validation, compliance, and ecosystem teams for integration and certification readiness.
• Work with OEMs, ODMs, board vendors, and ecosystem partners to drive adoption and successful deployment of AMD technologies.
