Job summary

Bowman seeks a Lead Planner/Scheduler in Houston, TX to guide planning and scheduling for oil & gas projects. You will manage EPS, WBS, calendars, and baselines, coordinating with teams and contractors to ensure accurate forecasting and change control.

You will mentor junior planners, drive continuous improvements, and provide risk analysis inputs to CSRA efforts while communicating with stakeholders across the organization.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in planning/scheduling for oil and gas or equivalent complex projects.
  • Primavera P6 proficiency and strong scheduling controls are required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English; ability to lead teams.

  • Lead planning/scheduling across multiple projects and programs.
  • Develop schedules, WBS, EPS, activity calendars, and resource codes.
  • Coordinate with Project Team and external partners for baselines and changes.
  • Provide updates, variance analysis, and CSRA inputs.

Purpose

Provide technical and non-technical support to all project activities with respect to planning/scheduling, resource loading/leveling, and schedule baseline variance analysis for all projects.

Responsibilities
  • Expert with standard planning and scheduling methodologies and tools.
  • Prepare plans and schedules for large and complex projects or multiple projects.
  • Obtain Project Team buy-in/approval of all documented schedule assumptions and baselines.
  • Ensure all changes to schedule baselines are approved prior to execution, as necessary.
  • Provide timely and accurate schedule updates based on input/coordination with the Project Team.
  • Facilitate planning workshops to define project schedule activity scope, relationships, and dependencies.
  • Creation, assignment, and maintenance of schedule EPS, WBS, Activity Calendars, Activity Codes, Global Changes, and Resources
  • Review, challenge, and incorporate external supplier/contractor schedules into the Master Integrated Schedule.
  • Validate schedule forecast accuracy, productivity, and produce variance analysis documentation.
  • Provide all necessary inputs for and actively participate in Cost and Schedule Risk Assessments (CSRA).
  • Assess schedule irregularities/trends to suggest acceleration opportunities and corrective actions.
  • Responsible for project progress measurement including reporting and schedule integration.
  • Develop and implement planning/scheduling processes and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain schedule benchmarking system.
  • Coach and mentor junior Planner/Schedulers in industry best practices/processes.
  • Lead a team of schedulers across multiple projects/programs.
  • Coordinate with and foster open lines of communication amongst all Project Team members.
  • Strive for continuous improvement across all areas of work.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance, Business, or Technical required.
  • Seven or more (7+) years of experience.
  • Primavera P6 experience required.
  • Resource Loading experience required.
  • Prior experience leading or mentoring a team is highly preferred.
  • Project management certification preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of project control functions, ERP systems and tools such as MS Dynamics 365, MS Office.
  • Experience with Omega 365 Pims and Power BI preferred.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and analytical skills – written and verbal.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English.
