Job summary

W.B. Guimarin & Co., Inc. in Columbia, SC, is seeking an experienced Pipefitting Foreman to lead commercial and industrial piping projects from start to finish.

You will supervise field crews and work hands-on to ensure safety, quality, and on-time completion. The ideal candidate has proven leadership on pipefitting crews, reads blueprints, coordinates materials and manpower, and enforces company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Pipefitting Foreman or Lead Pipefitter on commercial or industrial construction projects.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage field crews.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Thorough knowledge of commercial piping systems, installation methods, and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise pipefitting crews on commercial construction projects.
• Plan daily work activities and assign tasks to maximize productivity.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contract documents.
• Coordinate manpower, materials, tools, and equipment needed for each phase of work.
• Install, assemble, and repair piping systems according to project specifications.
• Cut, thread, bend, fit, and secure pipe using hand and power tools.
• Install valves, fittings, supports, hangers, and related mechanical equipment.
• Perform pressure, hydrostatic, and system testing to verify quality and performance.
• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with company standards, building codes, and project specifications.
• Identify and resolve installation issues while maintaining project schedules.
• Coordinate daily activities with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and other trades.
• Ensure crews follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Train, mentor, and develop apprentice and journeyman pipefitters.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, material usage, and production records.
• Monitor equipment and tool maintenance and ensure a clean, organized jobsite.
