Job summary

Meta’s LTD team seeks a Network Production Engineer to own Inside Plant and Outside Plant design for Backbone POPs and ILA huts. You will architect scalable physical infrastructure, create rack layouts, power plans and splicing schemes, and partner with sourcing and network teams to meet site constraints.

You will produce BOMs, drive documentation, and guide floor plans with vendors to evolve network topologies while aligning with site design standards and cross-functional reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years designing physical infrastructure / fiber-optic infrastructure (OSP/ISP) in telecom or hyperscale environments.
• Strong knowledge of fiber fundamentals and splicing techniques.
• Proven ability to translate network designs into physical builds with rack layouts and power considerations.
• Understanding of IP network hardware in POP/data center spaces.
• Experience producing clear technical documentation and cross-functional collaboration.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, engineer and implement scalable physical infrastructure for backbone POPs and ILA sites.
• Collaborate with network engineering and sourcing to translate topology into rack layouts, space and power needs.
• Develop and refresh site design standards as topology evolves.
• Produce BOMs and material forecasts for manufacturers.
• Engage with vendors on components and supply to scale network topologies.
• Document engineering designs and present them in cross-functional reviews.
• Support design-automation tooling for BOMs and fiber plant modeling.
• Guide site sourcing strategy against design standards and floor plans.
• Assist delivery teams by reviewing low-level site design migration plans.
