Job summary

Baptist Health Clinical Lab and Pathology Department in Lexington, KY is seeking a Lead Phlebotomist to oversee daily phlebotomy operations, coordinate staff, and ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

This full-time, first-shift role requires a High School diploma, at least one year of phlebotomy experience, and BLS certification; the Lead Phlebotomist will train staff, monitor quality metrics, and collaborate with laboratory leadership to improve specimen collection.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of job-related phlebotomy experience.
• BLS certification required (obtain within 30 days of hire).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily phlebotomy workflow, staffing, breaks, and coverage.
• Oversee training and competency program with Educator and Preceptors.
• Maintain phlebotomy supply stocking and address unit concerns.
• Collaborate with laboratory leadership, nursing, and other departments to keep operations efficient.
