Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Lead Phlebotomist to oversee daily phlebotomy operations at Jewish Hospital - UMC in Louisville, KY. You will supervise processors and phlebotomists, balance workload, and ensure specimens are processed promptly with accurate labeling.

The role requires at least 2 years of phlebotomy experience, a high school diploma, and preferably a certified phlebotomy program. You will model AIDET service and uphold Infection Control and HIPAA standards.

Qualifications

• 2 years of phlebotomy experience required.
• Experience with specimen processing preferred.
• Completion of certified phlebotomy program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities of the processors and phlebotomists.
• Perform lead duties and technical work.
• Ensure collections are performed within established times.
• Ensure specimens are processed in a timely manner.
• Teaches phlebotomy classes to laboratory and nursing personnel.
• Maintains time and attendance and workload distribution.
• Assists in orientation of new department employees and ensures competency.
• Promotes Infection Control and Safety policies and HIPAA compliance.
