PharMerica, in Oklahoma City, OK, is seeking a Lead Pharmacy Technician to join a closed-door LTC pharmacy team. You will supervise technicians, manage workflow, and support scheduling and quality standards.

Responsibilities include compounding, labeling, and ensuring regulatory compliance while delivering high-quality patient care. The role offers full-time hours with evening shifts and weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in an LTC pharmacy setting is required.
• Prior supervisory experience is desired.
• Basic understanding of drugs, terminology, and metric system; computer skills are needed.

• Participates in orientation, training, competency assessment, and evaluation of Pharmacy Technicians.
• Monitors workflow and reassigns Pharmacy Technicians as needed.
• Prepares Technician schedules to meet pharmacy needs.
• Fills prescription items, packages medications, and prepares for dispensing and delivery.
• Prepares medications including emulsions, liquids, powders and ointments.
• May work in Narcotics room, prepack drugs, manage inventory, data entry, and IV compounding.
• Communicates with customers professionally and ensures adherence to regulations.
• Performs other duties and complies with company policies.

Responsibilities

• Participates in orientation, training, competency assessment, and evaluation of Pharmacy Technicians.
• Monitors work flow and reassigns Pharmacy Technicians as needed.
• Prepares Pharmacy Technician schedules to meet the needs of the pharmacy.
• Fills prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy, packaging medications for dispensing and for delivery, meeting the accuracy and productivity standards of the pharmacy.
• Prepares medications including emulsions, liquids, powders and ointments, which may include non-sterile compounding.
• May perform the following:
  • Works in the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) Room.
  • Works with automated machines to prepack drugs.
  • Manages inventory functions such as monitoring pharmaceutical levels and identify expired medications, managing to the pharmacy standard for Days on Hand.
  • Inputs patient data and medication orders into a computer system to produce labels (data entry).
  • Mixes/packages IV medications, sanitizes IV room, equipment and hood.
  • Services facility-based medication dispensing machines (e.g., RxNow).
• Communicates with internal and external customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
• Ensure technician adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
