Job summary

PharMerica in Horsham, PA is seeking a Mobile Pharmacy Technician to join a closed-door, non-retail pharmacy team serving long-term care and senior living clients. The role involves scheduling, compounding, medication preparation, and accurate data entry to support safe medication delivery.

The position requires a HS diploma and LTC pharmacy experience, with opportunities for supervision and professional growth in a dedicated team environment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent
• Experience in an LTC pharmacy setting
• Prior supervisory experience
• Basic understanding of drugs and medication terminology
• Ability to operate a computer

Responsibilities

• Participates in orientation, training, competency assessment, and evaluation of Pharmacy Technicians.
• Monitors workflow and reassigns Pharmacy Technicians as needed.
• Prepares Pharmacy Technician schedules to meet the needs of the pharmacy.
• Fills prescription items, packaging medications for dispensing and for delivery, meeting accuracy and productivity standards.
• Prepares medications including emulsions, liquids, powders and ointments, which may include non-sterile compounding.
• Works with automated machines to prepack drugs; manages inventory levels and identifies expired medications.
• Inputs patient data and medication orders into a computer system to produce labels.
• Mixes/packages IV medications, sanitizes IV room, equipment and hood.
• Communicates with internal and external customers professionally.
• Ensures technician adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Participates in orientation, training, competency assessment, and evaluation of Pharmacy Technicians.
• Monitors work flow and reassigns Pharmacy Technicians as needed.
• Prepares Pharmacy Technician schedules to meet the needs of the pharmacy.
• Fills prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy, packaging medications for dispensing and for delivery, meeting the accuracy and productivity standards of the pharmacy.
• Prepares medications including emulsions, liquids, powders and ointments, which may include non-sterile compounding.
• May perform the following:
  • Works in the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) Room.
  • Works with automated machines to prepack drugs.
  • Manages inventory functions such as monitoring pharmaceutical levels and identify expired medications, managing to the pharmacy standard for Days on Hand.
  • Inputs patient data and medication orders into a computer system to produce labels (data entry).
  • Mixes/packages IV medications, sanitizes IV room, equipment and hood.
  • Services facility-based medication dispensing machines (e.g., RxNow).
• Communicates with internal and external customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
• Ensure technician adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
