Job summary

Vail Health Hospital in Kansas is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the daily operations of the pharmacy, including entering patient and prescription information, assisting in dispensing, stocking inventory, and serving as lead to other technicians.

Responsibilities include training staff, handling patient data, resolving third‑party adjudication issues, assisting in compounding of specialty medications, managing cash transactions, and maintaining inventory while delivering

Qualifications

• Experience in the healthcare industry is preferred.
• Must be adept at typing and using various computer programs.
• Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.

Responsibilities

• Lead technician: model behavior and train in Pharmacy Technician processes.
• Enter patient information and prescription orders in the computer.
• Interact with third-party prescription plans to resolve adjudication problems to facilitate processing of prescriptions.
• Profile and aid in dispensing under supervision; may include training in compounding of specialty medications.
• Manage cash register transactions to complete the patient experience.
• Complete daily cash and checks reconciliation and daily sales sheet; submit to finance for posting to monthly revenue.
• Manage and order OTC inventory and assist RX inventory to meet budgetary goals; train others.
• Deliver excellent customer service by using Relationship-Based Care to advocate for safety and patient preferences.
• Role model the principles of a Just Culture.
• Perform other duties as assigned; HIPAA compliant.
