Job summary

UPMC Williamsport is seeking a full-time Lead Pharmacy Technician to oversee designated areas of pharmacy operations, including sterile compounding, robotics, and OR support. The role supports pharmaceutical care across the system and offers a sign-on bonus of $5,000.

The position emphasizes leadership, mentoring, workflow optimization, and regulatory compliance within a 40-hour week, Monday–Friday, 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Operation Specialist.
• Demonstrated leadership in current position.
• Create and evaluate policy, procedure, and training materials regarding operational workflow.
• Take an active role in the training of fellow staff members in one's area of expertise.

Responsibilities

• Accurately fill medication orders through proper labeling, counting, packaging, and stocking procedures.
• Ensure products are appropriately initialed, dated, and documented.
• Support the safe and timely distribution of medications including cassettes and carts.
• Assist with procurement, storage, preparation, accountability, and distribution of investigational and study medications.
• Lead technical operations within a designated area of pharmacy operations and coordinate daily workflow.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, CMS, FWA and state/federal laws.
• Maintain inventory logs, temperature logs, and billing documentation.
• Provide exceptional customer service and collaborate with healthcare teams.
