Job summary

Thompson Pipe Group is seeking a Lead Person for a rotating shift at our Grand Prairie, TX plant. The role requires leading a production team, coordinating material deliveries, and ensuring safety, quality, and on-time production.

Starting pay is $22.00 per hour, DOE, with rotating shifts and potential weekend work as needed. Must be bilingual in English and Spanish and able to read blueprints and specifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
• 2 years of leading experience in manufacturing or production support.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish required; speak, read, write proficiently in both languages.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate critical areas of pipe finishing, outlets/specials and loading.
• Coordinate and assure proper material deliveries.
• Ensure safety, quality and production objectives on the floor.
• Develop action plans to meet deadlines and responsibilities.
• Monitor personnel for adherence to policies and productivity.
• Read blueprints and specifications; be technically proficient.

Thompson Pipe Group is currently looking for a Lead Person.

Starting Pay: $22.00/HR DOE

Shift: Rotating every other month -1-month M-F 5:00pm - 3:30am, then M-F 3:00pm -1:30am. Weekends as required by business needs.

Essential Job Functions

• Lead and coordinate critical areas of pipe finishing, outlets/specials and loading.
• Coordinate and assure proper material deliveries
• Ensure safety, quality, and production objectives are met by being a presence on the floor with practical relevant experience to reinforce best practices.
• Develop action plans in order to meet deadlines and responsibilities.
• Monitor personnel for adherence to company policies and productivity
• Read blueprints and specifications and be technically proficient
• Produce a quality product (including quality evaluations) that meets the customers’ expectations while ensuring that drawings and job specifications are followed
• Communications and Training
• Performs requirements to satisfy company procedures including administrative requirements
• Strives for zero defects and incidents

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
• 2 years of Leading experience leading a team in the manufacturing or production support process.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is required. Must be able to speak, read, write, and communicate effectively in both languages.

Physical Demands

• Requires the ability to communicate effectively.
• Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching; the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 50 pounds.
• Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to changes in temperature, exposure to dust and fumes.
• Use of ear plugs and other PPE – such as hard hat, steel-toes boots, gloves and safety glasses as required.
• This position is not a warehouse job. The candidate will work in an outdoor plant environment and may be exposed to weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and other temperatures changes.
