Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Systems Engineer to lead perception system development for the Maneuver Dominance team in California. You will own sensor suite baselines across aircraft variants, drive verification strategies, and represent the technical authority on airborne sensing.

The role requires strong systems engineering with multi-modal sensors, experience owning architecture, and the ability to operate across design, test, and flight test while coordinating with partners and customers.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Optics, Physics, Computer Science, Robotics, Aerospace, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of engineering experience on electro-optical, LiDAR, RADAR, or comparable sensing systems, including fielded performance.
• Demonstrated depth in multi-modal sensor architecture and sensor selection.
• Experience owning system architecture and interface definition for a sensing system.
• Ability to exercise very high ownership over a complex system from design to flight test.
• Quantitative sensing performance verification and validation experience.
• Knowledge of radiometry, detectors, noise, and atmospheric transmission in sensing.
• Strong written and verbal communication, including presenting to leadership and external bodies.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a US Top Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Drive perception system architecture and requirements baseline across sensing, compute, and algorithms.
• Own the sensor suite baseline and its configuration across aircraft variants.
• Set and defend the sensing performance model against target size, reflectivity, range, and weather.
• Drive verification and validation strategy including flight test objectives and data collection.
• Provide technical authority at design and gate reviews and defend the evidence base.
• Lead sensor trades and manage modularity/reuse across platforms.
