Search Consultancy LTD is recruiting an experienced Payroll Manager in Clarkston to own the payroll function across ~25 clients and lead a small payroll team. The role combines client liaison with payroll accuracy and deadline-driven performance.

The ideal candidate will have strong payroll experience, team management skills, and good knowledge of payroll processes. Office-based with potential for one day home-working; start ASAP.

Qualifications

• Strong payroll experience, ideally in a payroll bureau or client-facing environment.
• Experience managing or supporting a payroll team.
• Experience with multiple payrolls and deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes and deadlines.
• Excellent client communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confident and personable approach when dealing with clients and colleagues.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to take ownership of workloads.
• Payroll bureau experience would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day payroll function for a portfolio of ~25 clients.
• Manage around 20 weekly payrolls alongside monthly payrolls.
• Line manage two direct reports and support their development.
• Ensure payrolls are processed accurately and within deadlines.
• Handle client queries and resolve payroll issues promptly.
• Maintain regular communication with clients throughout the payroll cycle.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and provide updates to Partners.
