Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Lead Patient Safety Coordinator to oversee system-wide patient safety activities within the Clinical Quality Excellence Department. The role provides guidance to a Patient Safety Specialist and collaborates with clinical leadership to prevent patient harm.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in acute care, RN licensure, and CPHQ certification. Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is expected, along with strong communication and facilitation skills.

Qualifications

  • Associates Nursing or Bachelors Nursing-Preferred.
  • All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
  • Minimum 5 years in a clinical acute care setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the development and implementation of the Patient Safety Plan and the patient safety evaluation system.
  • Coordinates, investigates, analyzes and responds to quality/patient safety issues, events and significant care issues or trends.
  • Develops and analyzes data for administrative and clinical decision making related to patient safety.
  • Collaborates with system and facility teams, care management, clinical disciplines and leadership on patient safety improvements.
  • Presents data and reports deficiencies identified during surveillance to key stakeholders.
