Job summary

University of Utah Health seeks an In-Patient Technology Architect to define and govern architecture for patient-facing and bedside technologies. You will own domain areas, ensure safety, scalability, and alignment with clinical workflows while guiding enterprise decisions across facilities.

Responsibilities include architecture governance, vendor assessments, and collaboration with clinical operations, security, and infrastructure teams to promote standard designs and reliable patient

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, engineering, healthcare informatics, or related field.
• Three years of experience in enterprise/senior architecture roles (healthcare preferred).
• Experience designing room-based technologies with enterprise IT services and clinical workflows.
• Knowledge of privacy, security, and regulatory concerns for patient-facing tech.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain reference architectures, standards, and guardrails for patient-facing room technologies.
• Lead solution architecture for exam-room and patient-room capabilities including engagement and bedside workflows.
• Establish repeatable integration patterns between patient-facing solutions and enterprise platforms.
• Perform architectural assessments of vendors/solutions and document decisions, tradeoffs, and target-state architectures.
• Reduce fragmentation by promoting standard designs and shared platforms across facilities.
