First Christian Church in Williamsport, PA is seeking a Christ-centered Lead Pastor who will articulate a compelling vision, preach biblically faithful sermons, and lead a staff of three and volunteer ministry teams. The pastor will guide us to pursue Christ through teaching, discipleship, and outreach within a multi-generational congregation.

• Officiate weddings and funerals.
• Cast vision for the church's future and lead the congregation toward that vision with elders.
• Supervise and encourage a staff of three while fostering unity.
• Equip members to discover and use spiritual gifts in ministry.
• Represent FCC in the community through evangelism and outreach.

Lead Pastor

First Christian Church is seeking a Christ centered, Bible believing Lead Pastor who, consistent with our mission given by Jesus in Matthew 28:18-20, is able to Help People Find and Follow Jesus. We are looking for a visionary leader who will faithfully preach God’s Word, lead with humility and conviction, and help us continue to pursue Christ’s mission for the church.

First Christian is an independent Christian Church (Restoration Movement) with an average attendance of approximately 100-110. We have experienced tremendous response to Christ over the last almost 5 years, experiencing approximately 75 baptisms and 50% growth, including many young families and children. God is doing amazing things in our midst.

First Christian is a warm, multi-generational congregation that values biblical teaching, authentic relationships, meaningful worship, and reaching people for Jesus. We actively seek to break down barriers to reach the lost, while being consistent to God’s Word. We desire a pastor who will lead us spiritually while equipping our partners to serve Christ both within the church and throughout our community.

First Christian has a Children’s Director, Worship Pastor and Secretary on staff. We have a vibrant kids ministry and youth group lead by our Children’s Director and volunteers.

The greater Williamsport area, where First Christian is located, has been ranked #2 on communities to live in Pennsylvania, ranking high on cost of living, desirability and quality of life. Numerous outdoor hiking, hunting, fishing and camping opportunities abound.

Primary Responsibilities

• The Lead Pastor serves as the primary visionary and spiritual leader of the congregation. He serves in the capacity of an elder worthy of “double honor” and is responsible for guiding the overall ministry of the church, including supervising paid staff and approximately 15+ volunteer Ministry Team Leaders.
• Works as a member of and under the authority of the eldership team.
• Preparing and delivering biblically faithful, practical, and engaging sermons each Sunday
• Providing biblical teaching through classes, small groups, and discipleship opportunities.
• As part of the team of elders, offering pastoral care through counseling, hospital visitation, crisis ministry, and partner encouragement.
• Officiating weddings and funerals.
• Casting vision for the future of the church and leading the congregation toward that vision in partnership with the elders.
• Supervising and encouraging a staff of three employees while fostering a healthy and unified ministry team.
• Equipping members to discover and use their spiritual gifts in ministry.
• Set the example. Represent FCC in the community through evangelism and outreach.
• Providing administrative leadership appropriate for a congregation of our size.
