Job summary

The Paint Team Manager at Cummins Clean Fuel Technologies (CCFT) leads all paint operations, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and employee development. This role oversees paint booth operations, surface preparation, paint application, color matching, and finish quality for fuel system components.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in commercial vehicle painting and solid knowledge of coating systems, color formulation, and substrate preparation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in commercial truck, vehicle, or industrial painting operations.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing paint environment.
• Strong knowledge of paint chemistry, coating systems, and application methods.
• Experience with color matching, paint mixing, and coating system troubleshooting.
• Experience preparing and painting aluminum and steel substrates.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, and technical data sheets.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all paint department personnel.
• Develop employee skills through training, coaching, and performance reviews.
• Establish daily production priorities to meet production schedules.
• Foster a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Conduct performance reviews and support employee development plans.
• Oversee paint booth activities from surface prep to final finish inspection.
• Troubleshoot and resolve paint-related issues.
• Ensure compliance with paint manufacturer specs and engineering requirements.
