Job summary

OnTrac in Romeoville, IL is hiring a Package Handler to join our team. You will support safe, accurate handling of packages on a Sunday-Wednesday shift, with a base pay of $22.05/hour plus $1.00/hour weekend differential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of industry experience preferred.
• 1 year of leadership experience preferred.
• Regularly lift 25–35 lbs.; occasionally carry up to 150 lbs. with pallet jack.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols, including dock, conveyor, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Train and guide Package Handlers, providing hands-on demonstrations and ongoing performance feedback.
• Oversee package handling, sorting, and inspection processes to ensure accuracy, prevent damage, and avoid misroutes.
• Monitor equipment functionality, submit maintenance requests, and manage damaged freight according to company procedures.
• Check in/out third-party drivers, verify credentials, and ensure proper documentation and manifest accuracy.
