Qualifications

• Degree in optics, photonics, physics, electrical or mechanical engineering.
• 5 years minimum of relevant experience.
• Proficiency with interferometers, autocollimators, and alignment telescopes.
• Familiarity with optics assembly techniques for space-based optical systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision alignment for LWIR through UV lens assemblies using metrology tools.
• Obtain training and certification in NASA-STD-8739.1 Polymeric Mixing and Application.
• Bond optical elements per NASA-STD-8739.1 and drawings.
• Inspect optical elements for cleanliness and scratch/dig.
• Characterize as-built alignment with optical metrology.
• Maintain detailed written and photo documentation of activities.
• Contribute to process improvements in inspection, cleaning, alignment, and bonding.
