Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Lead IT Systems Engineer to support DHS and NCPS initiatives in a hands-on, integrated IT security environment. You will collaborate with ISSM and IT staff to build a cohesive IT Security operation within the program.

Responsibilities include testing and turning up transport services, managing the transport network, and guiding Tier-2 fault resolution and deployments. A Top Secret/SCI clearance and DoD 8570.1 level 2 certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a network management environment with DWDM/OTN/SONET knowledge.
• Security+ or equivalent IAT/IAM level 2 per DoD 8570.1 is required.
• Must be able to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance and work 24/7 shift as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform Test and Turn-Up of Transport nodes and services traversing the network.
• Operate Transport Network Management functions as a technical SME in engineering and operations.
• Troubleshoot Tier-2 NET issues including SONET, OTN, DWDM; coordinate implementations.
• Coordinate deactivation/decommission of Transport devices; maintain SOPs and docs.
• Develop Circuit Layout Records and Network Diagrams; review as-built and configs.
