Job summary

Eyemart Express is seeking a Lead Optical Lab Technician to guide the lab team in cutting, edging, and fabricating prescription lenses, ensuring customers receive glasses promptly. The role emphasizes leadership, precision, and adherence to quality standards within our lab operations.

The candidate will manage multiple tasks across equipment stations, maintain lab safety and cleanliness, and collaborate with teammates to meet daily production goals while supporting company standards and customer

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2–5 years of experience in a lab or technical setting required.
• Experience in the optical industry is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the lab team to cut, edge and create prescription lenses.
• Meet hourly deadlines for finishing jobs.
• Read and interpret prescriptions accurately and input into the computer for proper lens cutting.
• Maintain lab area and equipment with scheduled maintenance per manuals.
• Handle multiple tasks across equipment stations to maintain workflow.
• Collaborate with colleagues and assist in moving heavy lab equipment when needed.

Responsibilities

• Lab Leadership Identify and work with basic optical laboratory equipment tools supplies and materials
• Consistently adhere to hourly deadlines for finishing jobs
• Prescription Management Correctly read and interpret prescription specifications and input into the computer to ensure lenses are cut properly
• Maintenance Maintain the lab area and equipment in a safe and organized manner Perform daily weekly and monthly lab equipment maintenance as scheduled and in accordance with labequipment manual specifications
• Operational Excellence Perform multiple concurrent tasks at several different equipment stations to maintain acceptable job flow Fill out all assigned reporting forms in a timely manner
• Team Collaboration Establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees Assist in moving heavy lab equipment when necessary

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED 2 5 years of experience working in a lab or technical setting
