Job summary

Veracity Ventures Inc. in Rochester, NY is seeking a Lead Optical Engineer to design, analyze, and develop advanced optical and electro-optical systems for aerospace and defense, focusing on stray light control, non-sequential modeling, and radiometric performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required with 9+ years of related experience; graduate degree with 7+ years preferred.
• 2–3 years of experience with optical stray light analysis tools such as FRED.
• Ability to obtain a federal security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support optical engineering activities for advanced imaging, sensing, and electro-optical systems.
• Develop non-sequential stray light and radiometric models for space-based payloads; assess scattering and ghosting.
• Verify wavefront error, LOS, distortion, focus, focal length, and image quality metrics; produce error budgets.
