Job summary

Torrey Holistics is seeking a Lead Operator to coordinate maintenance and production activities in our Indiana facility. You will train and guide associates, ensure safety and quality standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the line.

Responsibilities include machine setup, safe operation, scrap control, and quick fault resolution. Leadership duties require motivation and effective communication with supervision and team members.

Qualifications

  • Experience applying GD&T and precision measurement on production equipment.
  • Ability to read tape measures and use calipers for quality checks.
  • Experience leading a manufacturing team and coordinating operators.

Responsibilities

  • Train and supervise associates in preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Set up machines and operate equipment safely for production runs.
  • Record and dispose of scrap daily; complete end-of-day rework.
  • Lead associates, troubleshoot faults, restart machines promptly.
  • Inform leadership of quality issues and participate in continuous improvement.

**Summary: **As a lead operator, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and assisting with the activities of associates engaged in maintaining and operating all equipment within our manufacturing environment. Your responsibilities include training and guiding all associates, ensuring safety and quality standards, and actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesTraining and assistance:Train and assist associates in performing preventative maintenance assignments.Perform Machine setup and operate machinery in a safe manner.Ensure accurate recording and disposal of scrap daily. Complete rework at the end of each day.Leadership and supervision:Lead, motivate and fill in for associates when necessary.Understand and operate individual process stations on all equipment.Clear all faults and restart machines promptly.Quality assurance:Inform Team leader or Production manager of all quality issues promptly.You should be proficient in:GD&TTroubleshooting SkillsTape Measure ReadingPrecision Measurement & Hand MetrologySpindle Maintenance & RepairMachine Setups for Production RunsManual Machining Skills
