We have an outstanding opportunity for a Lead Operator to support our plant located in Plainview, Texas. Our ideal candidate will enjoy working at a growing company, have great attention to detail, and enjoy a variety of daily responsibilities. The selected individual will assist the Operations Manager by overseeing the production crew and operation of the plant while working a 12-hour rotating shift schedule. Responsibilities will also include ensuring maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Constantly review the operation of the plant to monitor production and quality, anticipating and solving problems in a timely manner, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  2. Participate in projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
  3. Maintain adequate records of key production variables such as production volume, yield, plant uptime, utility consumption, etc., on a daily, weekly, and/or monthly basis, as required.
  4. Facilitate communication directly with QA/QC laboratory to ensure effective participation in the implementation of QA policies and procedures.
  5. Monitor the sampling and testing of process streams as required by the QA/QC program and procedures.
  6. Understand and help production crew interpret QA/QC results to ensure appropriate action is taken when required.
  7. Coordinate with maintenance department as needed for maintenance and repair work in process areas.
  8. Follow and enforce the procedures of the Safe Work programs, including Confined Space, Hot Work, and Lock-out Tag-out.
  9. Monitor use and inventories of process chemicals and supplies.
  10. Participate in and ensure the involvement in continued education and training programs for obtaining the necessary skill sets to adequately perform the duties of cook, distillation, energy center, and board operation.
QUALIFICATIONS
  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. 3 – 5 years related experience.
  3. Experience in the operation of a dry-mill ethanol plant strongly preferred.
  4. Ability to maintain courteous, professional and effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
  5. Ability to communicate information and state problems or challenges to be resolved in a clear and concise manner.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  1. Lifting up to 50 pounds.
  2. Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  3. Must be able to sit, stand, walk and climb.
