Job summary

Crown Cork and Seal USA, Inc. in Belcamp, MD is seeking a Lead Operator for our Specialty Packaging operation. The role involves leading the production line, training temporary employees, and driving line efficiency and quality.

Key duties include operating and assisting production line mechanics, maintaining records, and ensuring safety and housekeeping standards on the line. The position may require overtime and all shifts may be needed to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be able to walk, lift/carry up to 50 lbs on occasion
• Must be able to stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
• Must be able to twist at the waist and bend repetitively
• This position may also require climbing or balancing
• Ability to stand for long periods of time in a fast paced, manufacturing environment
• Must be available to work any shift
• Possible over-time as needed to meet customer requirements, including weekends
• Must wear required PPE and follow all safety rules

Responsibilities

• Operate and assist Production Line Mechanic with all direct and indirect production equipment.
• Operate and assist Production Line Mechanic in maintaining production line efficiencies, quality of production and records.
• Perform quality checks, maintain records and verify that finished goods and material used in the manufacturing of finished goods to Company specifications and production schedules.
• Work under the direction of Production Line Mechanics.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and safety - keep work area clean.
• Performs quality checks according to set standards.
• High attention to detail.

Active participation and integration with line team- Promote and encourage working together.

Responsible for the line and efficiency, output, spoilage reduction and overall line performance.

Responsible for training temporary employees.

Job Detail
