Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated in Maitland, FL is seeking a Lead Operating Engineer to oversee operation, inspection and maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems with minimal supervision.

The role runs 7am-4pm Monday to Friday plus on-call, and requires 3-5 years of related experience, trade training, and EPA CFC certification. Leadership and proficiency with MS Office are essential, and visa sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of related work experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry.
• Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable.
• Universal CFC EPA certification or plan to achieve within first year (with JLL assistance).
• Leadership or supervisory experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams).
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead operation, inspection and maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Schedule: 7am-4pm Monday through Friday + emergency on-call.
• Complete tasks including painting, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, water treatment, locksmith and general maintenance.
• Assist in supervising and implementing the preventative maintenance program.
• Maintain CMMS work order system daily and handle tenant service requests.
• Provide training and supervision to expand the Engineering team's capabilities.
• Support on-call or emergency response situations as needed.
• Troubleshoot building systems including electrical, DDC and pneumatic controls.
• Comply with all safety procedures and participate in ongoing training.
• Contribute to other projects and tasks as assigned.

Lead Operating Engineer

What this job involves:

Develop your engineering career at JLL! The Lead Operating Engineer leads, with minimal supervision, the operation, inspection, and maintenance processes to mechanical, HVAC, electrical and plumbing equipment and systems. This role may include assisting the Chief Engineer with providing direction to the team.

Schedule: 7am-4pm Monday through Friday + emergency on-call

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Complete assigned tasks that include but are not limited to: painting, pressure washing, maintaining lighting system bulbs/ballasts, plumbing, HVAC systems, water treatment, locksmith work and general maintenance (as allowed by licensing requirements)
• Assist in supervising and implementing the preventative maintenance program
• Maintain work order system (CMMS) daily and complete any tenant service requests
• Assist in providing training and supervision aimed at expanding the capabilities of Engineering team
• Support on-call or emergency response situations (if applicable)
• Troubleshoot all building systems, including electrical, DDC and pneumatic controls
• Comply with all safety procedures
• Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs
• Other projects and tasks to be assigned

Required qualifications:

• 3-5 years of related work experience, especially in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry
• Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable
• Universal CFC EPA certification or interest in achieving within first year (with JLL assistance)
• Leadership/supervisory experience
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall
• Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, lift and/or drive
• Strong customer service skills
• This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
