Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is recruiting a Charge Nurse for the Macmillan Day Case Unit at Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. You will lead a multidisciplinary team and deliver high quality care to patients undergoing cancer treatment, while supporting staff development.

The role requires a live NMC pin, extensive oncology experience, and strong leadership. You will manage your caseload, contribute to service improvement, and foster a patient-centred approach in a busy

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Significant post-registration nursing experience in an acute healthcare setting.
• Experience in oncology, cancer services or related speciality.
• Demonstrable leadership skills to motivate, support and develop others.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practice, clinical governance and quality improvement principles.
• Effective communication, organisational and decision-making skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and delivering high standards of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care programmes
• Deliver safe, effective and evidence-based care to patients receiving chemotherapy, radiotherapy and associated treatments
• Supervise, support and develop registered and unregistered members of the nursing team
• Organise and manage your own caseload while contributing to the effective coordination of departmental resources
• Support workforce management activities including staff development, appraisal processes and resource planning
• Contribute to service improvement, clinical audit, research activity and the ongoing development of nursing practice
• Work collaboratively with patients, families and multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver person-centred care and positive outcomes
