Job summary

The University of Toledo is seeking a Lead Nurse for the Psychiatry Float Pool (PFP). This part-time role entails leading nursing care during evening/night shifts in apsychiatry float pool, coordinating care with other health professionals.

Required qualifications include active Ohio RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, and ER-specific PALS, with 1+ year of relevant clinical experience. Leadership and flexibility are highly valued for weekend and holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the State of Ohio required.
• BSN Preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience with documented evidence of expertise in specialty.
• BLS required.
• ACLS required.
• Specialty certification preferred.
• Trauma certification (TCAR and/or TNCC) required for SICU and ER.
• PALS required for ER.
• Supervisory and/or leadership experience desired or demonstrates ability to assume leadership role.
• May be required to rotate shifts or units, and work weekends and/or holidays.
• Physical requirements: visual acuity 20/20 or corrected, hearing, communication, manual dexterity, lifting up to 50 pounds, ability to stand/walk, bend/reach, CPR.

Job Description

Maintains standards of professional nursing practice and coordinates total nursing care for patients with consideration of their specific age needs. Provides leadership by working cooperatively with other health care professionals.

Minimum Qualifications

• 1. Active RN licensure in the State of Ohio required.
• 2. BSN Preferred.
• 3. Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience with documented evidence of expertise in specialty.
• 4. BLS required.
• 5. ACLS required
• 6. Specialty certification preferred.
• 7. Trauma certification (TCAR and/or TNCC) required for SICU and ER.
• 8. PALS required for ER.
• 9. Supervisory and/or leadership experience desired or demonstrates ability to assume leadership role. Excellent communication skills required. Ability to promote a team environment is required with excellent understand of customer service.
• 10. May be required to rotate shifts or units, and work weekends and/or holidays.
• 11. Physical requirements:
