Qualifications

Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Lead Endovascular Radiologic Technologist functions as the lead person for Radiologic Technologists in the Endovascular Laboratory, generally for an assigned shift. In this capacity, performs lead job duties and/or regularly leads projects or performs specialized responsibilities as a regular part of normal job responsibilities. Serves as the liaison between management, staff, vendors, and physicians for routine matters as the primary point of contact for resolving questions and issues for Technologist jobs as well as support staff, resulting in the delivery of exceptional patient care and adherence to standards of practice for optimal patient safety, quality outcomes, and customer service. Duties may include:

  1. Maintain staffing productivity.
  2. Organize work schedules and make work assignments.
  3. Conduct quality assurance audits of staff performance.
  4. Develop and implement quality improvement activities.
  5. Train and mentor staff.
  6. Provide feedback on staff performance and developmental needs.
  7. Participate in the development of skills and performance of staff.
  8. Lead and regularly perform special projects.
  9. Collect/analyze/report on data.
  10. Prepare reports on performance and metrics.

This job requires availability to be on call. Routinely works weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, overtime, and/or on an on-call/call-back status, when needed. Responsible for maintaining department compliance with TDSHS and TJC guidelines. Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. At least 3 years experience in Neuro endovascular procedures preferred.
  2. Membership in related professional organization preferred.
  3. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training, and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.

EDUCATION / LICENSURE:

  1. Graduate from an approved school in Radiologic Technology.
  2. Currently licensed as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) in the State of Texas.
  3. Current ARRT Licensure.
  4. Certification in Vascular Interventional Radiology.
  5. Must have and maintain current American Heart Association BLS certification, according to unit specific needs.
  6. Must have and maintain current American Heart Association ACLS certification, according to unit specific needs.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE:

  1. Trained in Interventional Angiography.
  2. Able to operate a power injector.
  3. Able to assist interventionalist in performing procedures to various parts of the body from head to lower extremities.
  4. Familiarized with contraindications for contrast.
  5. Able to utilize critical thinking to ensure the proper procedure is being performed.
