Job summary

CentralSquare Technologies in the United States is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to lead the architecture, design, and deployment of cloud network solutions with our Cloud Infrastructure team. This role focuses on robust network security, site-to-site VPNs, and reliable routing for AWS-hosted applications.

You will configure Cisco ASA devices, manage NAT and routing environments, and participate in on-call rotation in a hybrid work setting to ensure uptime and performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of Network Engineer experience focusing on Cisco routing and switching.
  • Experience with VPN configurations and firewall rules (Cisco ASA).

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and implement network infrastructure including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Manage infrastructure security policies and VPN configurations.
  • Troubleshoot NAT, routing, and interconnectivity in a hybrid/AWS environment.
  • Provide on-call support and escalation for network incidents.

The Role

This role will lead the architecture, design, and deployment of network solutions with our Cloud Infrastructure team.

Responsibilities will include developing specifications, implementing and maintaining cloud network security architecture for systems applications, performing and managing network design upgrades and hardware reconfigurations in a hybrid environment, diagnosing and resolving routing and interconnectivity issues, and overall ensuring the availability, reliability, integrity, and efficient operation of the systems that support the AWS Cloud and hosted applications.

There will be on-call hours for this position on a rotating schedule (typically twice a month).

Job Duties
  • Responsible for the design, configuration, and implementation of the network infrastructure including routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Provides the technical designs and configurations for infrastructure security including VPN services, security policies and firewall configurations
  • Experience with building and troubleshooting Site-to-Site VPNs
  • Strong knowledge of all types of Network Address Translations (NAT)
  • Extensive knowledge of Cisco ASA firewalls, routers and switches (Cisco IOS, NX-OS, ASA, ASDM)
  • Extensive understanding of physical and logical network segmentation including VLANs and IP subnetting
  • Vast knowledge in TCP/IP configurations, network addressing, and IP address management
  • Skilled in network routing protocols including OSPF and BGP
  • Strong expertise in troubleshooting network issues including connectivity and latency for production environments
  • Ability to configure and maintain network management and monitoring systems
  • Provides escalated on and off hours support for all escalated IT issues and cutovers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate a drive and passion for continuous improvement in all aspects of work
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in areas such as Computer Systems Engineering, Network Security Management, Information Technology or Computer Science
  • 7+ years proven Network Engineer experience - Particularly Cisco routing and switching
  • Strong Knowledge of routing protocols - (BGP, OSPF etc.)
  • Experience configuring Cisco ASA firewalls including managing firewall rules
  • Experience in scripting using Python or Ansible for automation
  • VPN Configuration and Troubleshooting experience
  • Exposure to AWS cloud environment would be a plus
  • Cisco CCNP or equivalent experience
  • Strong aptitude for troubleshooting and/or isolating network related problems
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Occasionally work evenings and weekends to accommodate global customer change windows
  • Certifications are a huge plus! | Cisco Certified Network Associate certifications, Professional CompTIA Network, AWS certifications, or similar
