Job summary

ZelTech seeks a Naval Architect to lead the design, analysis, and integration of surface and subsurface unmanned systems for a government customer. The role emphasizes MBSE approaches, modeling and simulation tools, and lifecycle development across naval platforms.

The candidate will perform hydrostatics, hydrodynamics, stability analyses, and structural assessments while ensuring compliance with ABS, USCG, and NAVSEA standards. A US citizen with an active SECRET clearance is required.

Qualifications

• US citizen
• Active SECRET clearance
• Experience in naval platform design or DoD ship design
• 7+ years of professional engineering experience
• Experience with MBSE tools and SysML/Cameo
• Familiarity with ABS, USCG, NAVSEA standards
• Ability to produce technical drawings and reports
• Strong hydrodynamics, hydrostatics, stability analysis

Responsibilities

• Lead concept development, hull form design, and systems integration for manned and unmanned marine platforms
• Conduct hydrostatics, hydrodynamics, seakeeping, and stability assessments including damaged conditions
• Perform structural survivability evaluations
• Support model testing, tank trials, and CFD simulations
• Ensure design compliance with ABS, USCG, NAVSEA standards
• Apply MBSE methods (SysML/Cameo) to integrate models with design and requirements
• Develop technical data packages including hull drawings, stability reports, CFD validation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout development lifecycle
• Participate in technical reviews and IPTs
• Prepare design documentation and compliance reports
