Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Trader, Natural Gas (Supply Chain) to lead and grow a lean trading team at Starbase, TX. You will originate and execute physical and financial gas transactions to support SpaceX’s energy needs for launches and production.

You will develop trading strategies, manage risk and P&L, and interact with engineering, finance, and legal teams to optimize cost and supply continuity. Remote work is not offered for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience in natural gas or energy commodity trading.
• Experience with energy markets analysis and sourcing/trading.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Excel/BI tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead a lean natural gas trading team and originate/execute physical and financial gas transactions.
• Develop and implement directional, spread, and financial trading strategies to reduce risk and improve delivery.
• Manage P&L, risk, and performance metrics; monitor market signals and adjust positions accordingly.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders and external counterparties to optimize sourcing and deal flow.
• Recruit, mentor, and scale a trading team while ensuring compliance with regulations.
