Job summary

Rise48 Equity is hiring a Controller to own corporate and property accounting across a multi-entity multifamily portfolio. You will run the monthly close, consolidations, and partnership accounting, lead the annual audit, and keep policies and internal controls current as the portfolio grows.

You will lead two managers and build the team beneath them. This role is as much leadership as technical work: you will develop people, plan around problems before they reach the close, and use automation

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience including time as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or equivalent.
• Experience in multifamily real estate accounting and multi-entity structures.
• Proven leadership in managing accounting teams and driving process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for all entities and deliver reporting within 15 days.
• Produce lender-compliant statements, consolidations, and partnership accounting across multi-entity structure.
• Lead the annual audits and serve as primary liaison to external auditors.
• Document and maintain accounting policies and internal controls for consistency.
• Develop and manage the accounting team, including two managers.
• Drive automation and process improvements to grow output efficiently.
• Support acquisitions, dispositions, and refinancings from accounting/reporting perspective.
• Partner with CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and lender/investor reporting.
