Job summary

SCO Family of Services is seeking a Lead MST therapist in New York City to back up the clinical supervisor and lead group supervision. You will train new therapists, manage a small caseload of 4–5 families, and provide in-house family counseling and crisis intervention.

You will conduct MST assessments, design cognitive behavioral interventions, and collaborate with psychiatrists, schools, and pro-social programs. Some remote flexibility is available.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years' experience with an evidence-based treatment model (MST preferred).
  • Licensed mental health professional (LMSW/LMFT/MHC or related).
  • Experience with family therapy or in-home counseling for youth and families.

Responsibilities

  • Back up to the clinical supervisor with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Lead group supervision and provide consultation support.
  • Manage a 4–5 family caseload with in-house counseling and crisis intervention.
  • Conduct MST assessments following evidence-based modalities.
  • Design cognitive behavioral interventions for youth and families.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, schools, clinics, and community programs.
  • Advocate for families at hospital, court, or probation meetings.
  • Participate in weekly supervision and complete routine duties.
  • Some remote flexibility.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience with an evidence-based treatment model, ideally with MST or an MST adaptation.
  • Licensed mental health professional: LMSW, LMFT, MHC, or related.
  • Previous experience with family therapy, or in home counseling, to youth and their families.
  • Flexible work schedule. Some evening and occasional weekend work is required.
  • Ability to handle a high work load and adhere to program deadlines with high quality written documentation.
  • Knowledge and experience in the Juvenile Justice System a plus as well as experience in a preventive ACS program desired.
Education
  • Master's degree required. MSW, MFT, MHC or related degree preferred.
Special Skills
  • Bilingual a plus.

  • Externally: interacts with ACS, NYC Department of Correction, NYC Department of Education, and other community-based organizations
  • Internally: interfaces with other service programs as well as business support services
