Montessori Torah Academy seeks an Upper Elementary Lead Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The role focuses on student-centered, self-paced learning within a Montessori framework for ages 9-12.

Responsibilities include lesson delivery, behavior management, progress observation, and collaboration with staff and parents to support each child’s holistic development. Montessori certification preferred.

Job Title: Upper Elementary Lead Teacher

Montessori Torah Academy teachers establish a welcoming classroom where each child feels cared for and respected. The learning environment is student-centered and self-paced, allowing children to explore their own interests while mastering skills and knowledge. Our Montessori program lays the groundwork for academic success by emphasizing critical thinking, problem-solving, independent focus and working in collaboration with others.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Actively prepare lessons and execute group and individual lessons to meet children’s needs.
• Guide and supervise children during work cycle, playground time and other activities.
• Prepare and maintain a learning environment that is clean, organized, and enticing for young learners.
• Use behavior management techniques individually tailored to each child and promote classroom normalization.
• Carefully observe each child, recording academic progress and offering new challenges.
• Support each child’s full development socially, mentally, physically and emotionally.
• Maintain positive relationships and communications with parents and peers.
• Actively participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
• Implement a curriculum that fosters teacher guidance, and assessment in planning in concert with student planning, monitoring, and assessing their work, and demonstrating responsibility for their learning and actions.
