The Woods, A Montessori School in Woodbridge, VA, seeks a Lead Early Childhood (3-6) Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year, starting August 17, 2026. The successful candidate will lead a mixed-age class of 20-25 children, deliver Montessori lessons, observe, record-keep, and communicate with parents.

Responsibilities include staff training, managing an assistant, parent education, and contributing to a nurturing, collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to mission values: peace, independence, love of learning, respect.
• Flexible and collaborative team player.
• Comfortable with electronic record-keeping.
• Willingness to work during Summer Camp (preferred).
• AMS/AMI/MACTE Credential recognized.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Montessori lessons to a mixed-age classroom.
• Perform observations and daily record-keeping.
• Communicate with parents across multiple channels.
• Provide parent education and staff training.
• Manage an assistant teacher and support staff.
• Support children with care and Montessori philosophy.
