Luminary Montessori in Hendersonville, TN, is hiring a Lead Montessori Primary Teacher to guide a mixed-age 3–6 classroom. You will supervise the full Montessori curriculum, protect the three-hour work cycle, and work closely with families to support the transition to elementary.

The role requires Montessori credentialing (AMI/AMS/MACTE) and a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education or related field, with prior 3–6 classroom leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Montessori credential strongly preferred; credentialing support available for the right candidate.
• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading a 3–6 classroom and maintaining a full set of albums.
• The patience to observe rather than intervene, and to let a child's concentration run its course.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a complete, beautiful Primary environment across every curriculum area.
• Present individualized lessons from Montessori albums and track progress.
• Protect the uninterrupted three-hour work cycle.
• Guide the mixed-age community, including kindergarteners as classroom leaders.
• Observe daily and let observation drive what each child is ready for.
• Partner with families through conferences and daily communication for transitions to elementary.
• Mentor and direct an assistant teacher while maintaining health, safety, and ratios.

Luminary Montessori is a new, authentic Montessori school opening in January 2027 in Hendersonville, Tennessee — serving children from 10 weeks to six years in a beautiful, purpose-built facility, with the operational excellence of the best programs.

ROLE SUMMARY

Guide a mixed-age 3–6 Primary classroom across the full Montessori curriculum — practical life, sensorial, language, mathematics, and cultural studies — protecting the three-hour work cycle and the conditions in which deep concentration becomes possible.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and maintain a complete, beautiful Primary environment across every curriculum area
• Present individualized lessons from the Montessori albums and keep accurate records of each child's progress through the sequences
• Protect the uninterrupted three-hour work cycle
• Guide the mixed-age community, including third-year (kindergarten) children in their role as classroom leaders
• Observe daily, and let observation rather than a fixed timetable determine what each child is ready for
• Partner with families through conferences and daily communication, and prepare children and families for the transition to elementary
• Mentor and direct an assistant teacher; maintain health, safety, and ratios
