Job summary

ATCC, a global nonprofit providing trusted biological materials for science and health, is hiring a Lead Biologist in Manassas, VA. The role focuses on molecular biology QC testing and leading the Quality Control Department, coordinating tests, training staff, and ensuring data integrity in a regulated environment.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with PCR methods, GMP/GxP documentation, and mentorship capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience required.
• Extensive molecular biology QC testing experience.
• Ability to lead complex lab work across projects.
• Experience in regulated environment with data integrity and SOPs/WIs.
• Preferred: PCR techniques and LIMS familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Lead testing and coordinate complex experiments in collaboration with team.
• Collect, analyze, and report data; maintain thorough notebooks and batch records.
• Support supervisor in meetings and projects; mentor and train staff.
• Oversee laboratory operations including supply monitoring and equipment upkeep.
• Prepare for internal and external audits and ensure compliance.
