Job summary

Nemours Children's Hospital, Delaware seeks a Full-Time Molecular Pathologist to lead molecular pathology and genomics testing within the Nemours Genomics Laboratory. You will validate and implement NGS-based assays, oversee quality systems, and provide expert clinical interpretation for pediatric cases.

The role emphasizes collaboration with pathology, clinical, research, and bioinformatics teams, ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality diagnostic services in a pediatric setting.

Qualifications

• Board certified or board eligible in Molecular Genetic Pathology (ABP/ABMGG)
• CAP/CLIA requirements for molecular and genomics laboratories
• Experience in clinical molecular diagnostics laboratory
• Experience with whole-exome or genome sequencing, rapid turnaround testing, or pediatric rare disease genomics
• Familiarity with bioinformatics workflows and variant interpretation frameworks

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical validation, implementation, and quality management of NGS-based assays
• Provide molecular pathology consultation and interpretation with pediatric subspecialists
• Ensure CAP/CLIA compliance and regulatory standards
• Oversee development, validation, and implementation of in-house NGS panels
• Collaborate with bioinformatics and pathology teams for data analysis and reporting
• Mentor laboratory staff and contribute to education and scholarly activity
