Job summary

Leading Edge Before & After School in Sayreville is seeking a Middle School Lead Teacher for the before & after school program. The role focuses on creating a safe, engaging environment where students learn, explore, and form connections after the school day ends.

You will collaborate with the Site Director to manage daily operations, lead activities, and mentor students, families, and school staff. Ideal candidates bring 1+ year of relevant experience and a commitment to leadership growth

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a structured childcare/education setting.
• Some college coursework in Education, Child Development, or related field.
• Ability to meet NJ state licensing requirements.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support daily program operations alongside the Site Director.
• Create a safe, positive, and engaging environment for students.
• Lead educational, recreational, and enrichment activities that encourage learning and creativity.
• Prepare and implement activities using approved curriculum and program materials.
• Supervise students during activities, transitions, snack time, and outdoor play.
• Build positive relationships with students, families, school staff, and fellow team members.
• Maintain attendance records and behavior documentation.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and New Jersey licensing requirements.
• Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development.
