Job summary

Alaska Power & Telephone Company is seeking a Metering Program Lead to own metering work across our systems. The role may be based in an AP&T office or a home-based location in Alaska or the Pacific Northwest, with travel to remote sites as needed.

The position focuses on leading metering projects, configuring meters and communication devices, developing standards, and supporting billing with metering issues. A degree in electrical/engineering tech or equivalent experience is required.

Qualifications

• 2- or 4-year degree in electrical/electronics engineering technology or related field, or equivalent journeyman-level metering experience.
• 5+ years hands-on electric metering experience: installation, configuration, programming, testing of CT/PT meters.
• Knowledge of metering standards, NESC, NEC and revenue metering accuracy.
• Ability to manage projects, communicate with team members, and travel up to 30%.
• Pass pre-employment drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Spec, procure, and manage meters, CTs, PTs and related metering equipment.
• Configure and program meters and communication devices.
• Develop and maintain metering standards, forms, settings, and docs.
• Oversee commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of metering systems.
• Lead meter audit program and support regulatory documentation.
• Support AMI systems and validate meter data with Billing.
• Travel to remote sites and provide field support as needed.
