Job summary

Coastal Beverage Company is seeking a field-based Merchandiser to service and merchandise retail accounts across North Carolina, ensuring displays are stocked and compliant with CBC standards. The role requires regular travel and a valid driver's license.

You will train new merchandisers, participate in store resets, cover large format routes, and attend sales meetings. A high school diploma and at least 1 year of merchandiser or sales experience are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 1 year merchandiser/sales experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Basic math skills including rates, ratios, and percentages.
• Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
• Computer skills involving e-mail and Internet.

Responsibilities

• Assist the sales and delivery departments by servicing and merchandising retail accounts in a professional manner.
• Stock and merchandise products to ensure beverage sections and displays are filled and CBC standards are met.
• Field-based role requiring presence in customer accounts during standard business hours.
• Assist with training new merchandisers.

• Attend sales meetings and complete craft and wine training; view playbooks.

Schedule: Rotating Schedule working 7:30am - 4:30pm (and as needed), generally working Tuesday-Saturday.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the sales and delivery departments by servicing and merchandising retail accounts in the best professional manner possible. Responsible for stocking and merchandising various products ensuring that all beverage sections, racks, and displays are completely filled, POS neat, clean and current and displays maintained according to Coastal Beverage Company’s standards.
• This is a field-based role requiring consistent presence in customer accounts throughout the day during designated standard business hours to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Assist with training new merchandisers.
• Lead or assist with store resets.
• Cover large format open sales routes as needed.
• Conduct surveys of accounts as requested.
• Attend sales meetings; complete craft and wine training; view playbooks.
• Responsible for regular and punctual attendance to ensure product is delivered timely to CBC customers.
• All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Possess education equivalent to a high school diploma plus at least 1 year of merchandiser or sales experience.
• Possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Possess the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Possess basic mathematical skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, use whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Possess the ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
• Possess ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Possess computer skills requiring knowledge e-mail software, and Internet.
• Possess the ability to maintain regular and punctual in-person attendance to support merchandising operations and service customer accounts.
• Possess ability to drive, valid driver's license, and a driving record compliant with company standards.
