This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Duties
- Assist examining Medical Officer with applicant examination and identification of disqualifying enlistment/retention factors and/or determination of applicant’s fitness for military duty.
- Perform Medical Technician duties (i.e., collect and process medical specimens, perform laboratory testing, monitor and stock medical supplies, etc.).
- Ensure proper maintenance of medical testing/evaluative equipment.
- Provide technical guidance to subordinates.
- Verify applicants’ identity using previously captured biometrics (i.e., digital fingerprints and photographs).
- Lead Medical Exam Function team.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to use restrictive and protective clothing such as surgical gloves and non-exposing footwear.
- This position may require occasional Saturday work and occasional shift work (before 0600 and after 1800 hours).
- This position requires incumbent to successfully complete Military Health System (MHS) GENESIS Training in order to access the MHS GENESIS System within 30 days of on-boarding and/or as required.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
